lebenkunstler asked: The justification of morals and ethics; who or what decides if something is moral or ethical. Religion says God, science says there are none, society says laws and the government. But aside from laws, rules, and common knowledge of what and what not to do, what causes us to feel what is right and wrong? The feeling in our gut that tells us that something is bad, wrong, and terrible; that stealing from your friend gives you a guilty conscious, or that lying was not the best thing to do. What gives us this guilt? This feeling of regret? There is no scientific laws, rules, or explanations of why humans feel a somewhat ethereal nudge inside of them when they have done a vice. But religion does explain it, it explains the continuousness given to us through God, Christianity calls it the "Holy Spirit". Now the Holy Spirit was not bestowed upon us until after the death of Christ; so did people before this time feel any guilt? Or perhaps it required a sacrifice, so did the Jews, the only people with the true sacrifice have a guilt factor? If so, this may explain the amount of atrocities and barbaric actions of earlier cultures, and it may not. We may never know the true feeling of a guilty conscious, but my belief is the Holy Spirit is in us, giving us the convictions we receive.
Also Miss Soriano, you need to capitalize the "i"s in your blog description
silly. i didn’t capitalize the “i’s” on purpose! showing that i am insignificant to the Majesty and Glory of God. go back and notice all the words that are capitalized :)
randomdiscourse: this one, actually all of his, made me chuckle!
So I tried writing a story, but after fifteen minutes of writing what I thought was a decent story, my pinky decided to hit buttons and my post refused to come back because of the violent nature involved in such strangely automatic button-mashing. This may be due to my lack of blogging savvy and…

Growing up in the Seventies had to be one of the most fun, yet challenging experiences of my seventeen years on this planet. You always hear about all the weed, Vietnam, protests, Vietnam protests, etc. The counter-culture during my time defined the culture of my time. With television programs…
Japan is home to the world’s largest — and most painful — hornet. With a wingspan of up to three inches, the Asian giant hornet can look more like a tiny flying bird.
And if you’re a bird — or a bee — watch out.
The Asian giant hornet can inject “a deadly neurotoxin [which] actually can be fatal,” says science writer Amy Stewart. “In Asia, they call it a yak-killer because it has such a potent neurotoxin.”
One entomologist in Tokyo described feeling like a hot nail had been driven into his leg after he was stung. The hornet has been known to prey on mantises and even other hornet species.
Can’t sleep, Asian giant hornets are going to kill everything. (At NPR)
This girl is fucking nothing short of gorgeous and she obviously has a heart. This is so beyond fucked up and it was honestly a really hard video to finish watching. It’s horrid to think that because of insecure, rude, selfish people, girls (and boys) like Jade are left thinking their only choice left is to take their life. I myself have experienced my share of being bullied, all through my middle school and part of high school years. Let me tell you, it really does hurt. I was strong, I got through it and I kept my head held high, but there were nights when I would find myself not being as strong as I would tell myself I am. I would breakdown and cry, for hours on end.. what nobody understands when they mindlessly bully another person is that, although that person may look happy and strong on the outside, it’s usually completely the opposite. I really think and have thought for a long time that everybody needs to think twice before they call somebody they hardly know a bitch, or a whore, or stupid or dumb. You have no idea what they’re going through and you need to take a second to put yourself in their position.this is jade. she’s gorgeous. and she should have been able to live a normal teenage life. but, because of some of her classmates, she isn’t with us anymore. jade killed herself 3 days after creating this video. If you’re against bullying; reblog this. jade would want people to know the dangers of bullying and the consequences it leaves people with. bullies are people who are angry with their lives, so find a way to take it out on other people. some of them go too far, which causes people just like jade to take their lives just to stay out of the misery they are being put through. suicide can be prevented, we all just need to try.She is so beautiful. such a shame her life was taken away.

Tomorrow we will continue to think through Ephesians 1:15-23. Last week we focused on the elements of Paul’s prayer (wisdom and knowledge of God that leads to the power of God). Tomorrow, we talk about the relationship between all those elements and how to think about them in our own lives.
We will also be singing:
Holy, Holy, Holy by Reginald Heber
I Asked the Lord by John Newton
Jesus I My Cross Have Taken by Henry Lyte
Be Thou My Vision by Dallan ForgailHope to see you there!
On April 8th, at 7pm, join us at FBCN for the screening of Tony - their latest documentary - which is a story of hope. Hope that one day Ugandans can live without the fear of rebel army attacks. Hope that one day they can live in comfort and peace. Hope that one day they can be free. Join us to learn how you can make a difference in bringing hope to the many Ugandans in need.
Invisible Children is a wonderful organization dedicated to bringing an end to the longest running war in Africa, through the development and maintenance of programs aimed toward peace and education. For 25 years Uganda has been terrorized by Joseph Kony and his rebel army. More recently, this war has spread into the D.R. Congo. Women and children are being ruthlessly murdered and families torn apart; villages are rendered helpless due to lack of resources. Invisible Children seeks to bring attention to these atrocities by sharing the stories of Ugandans with the world. Currently, Invisible Children is focusing their efforts on providing villages in Uganda and D.R. Congo with radio towers and other forms of communication to alert surrounding villages of the rebel army’s movements and to call for medical aide.
